Sports betting in Kenya is becoming pervasive, with news of new wealth created overnight through betting on weekend matches. The largest affected demographic being the youth, mostly unemployed and employed but who try to supplement their meagre salaries. This has led to sports addiction and in some cases where the loss is too much to bear suicide becomes an option.
Its no longer a surprise to read of betting related suicides here in Kenya and some African countries. People loosing as much as Kes200,000($200) a day betting and hoping they'll make 10 times the amount. In Kenya these companys' are raking in Billions of shillings yearly from this endemic and with government support( GOVT plans on cutting taxes on betting firms from 35% to 15%) they aren't about to stop taking advantage of desperate Kenyans.
While on the other hand The Central Bank of Kenya is loudly criticizing the acquisition of one of the most popular digital currencies in the world, Bitcoin( with a capital B because its a big deal!). This here is an opportunity for young Kenyans and Kenyans in general to focus on potentially the greatest wealth transfer ever.
Sportpesa the most popular betting company in Kenya and was started in 2014 and picked up really fast. At that time bitcoins price was looming at $300(Kes30,000) and as of now it sits at a price of $8600(apologies if its at $6000 again lol, you know Bitcoin) that is approximately Kes860,000. Ethereum on the other hand started this year at around $600(Kes60,000) and dropped to $400(Kes40,000) and just recovered a few weeks ago to stagnate at a price of $700(Kes70,000), yet very few Kenyans will get a chance to know about this, we live in a fast world and those who don't adopt fast get lost and forgotten, although some people claim its a bubble(which is true, i'll address this in a different article), they say it out of ignorance.
Now Bitcoin has been predicted to hit $1Million(Kes100,000,000) by 2030 only 12 years from now, best thing is you do not have to aquire a whole Bitcoin. You can start buying fractions of Bitcoin for as low as Ksh1000 and its easy to both buy and sell. Platforms like localbitcoins make this kind of transactions smooth. I am heavily invested in Ethereum a cryptocurrency coin that has a lot of potential based on its Technology. I have a step by step guide here that will help you acquire the coin.
All in all I advise you to do your research and put your money where you're guaranteed results even if its for the long-term and only invest money you can afford to loose.
